𝙄𝙣𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 > 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘐𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘳 𝘚𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘖𝘶𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘗𝘴𝘺𝘤𝘩𝘦

The Inner Space and Outer Psyche (2023) is a series of video paintings featuring color-morphing abstract moving images. Each video is a unique composition combining shape, color, texture, and rhythm to create a dynamic optical experience. In addition to their aesthetic qualities, the video paintings in the series also have a meditative aspect, enabling viewers to enter into a state of reverie. Although this series was created in the video medium, the piece is not meant to be sat down and watched. Instead, due to its highly abstract and non-narrative nature, the work is more atmospheric and trance-like, something to surround an audience or be stared into. As a result, it is exhibited in multiple shifting and adaptive scales.

The Inner Space and Outer Psyche served as my MFA thesis and was featured at the RISD Grad Show 2023.
